RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER: The rules and/or regulations set forth are herein designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events and, by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSING OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH, THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. The race directors shall be empowered to permit
minor deviations from any of the specifications herein ore impose any further
restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable
requirements.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN PIT AREA DURING THE RACING!!! A. BODY RULES: 1. Any American made car with factory specification of 108” wheel base. 2 No vans, trucks, station wagons or convertibles. 3. Minimum weight with driver and gear:
cars with 360 cu. inch or less = 3600 pounds, cars over 360 cu. inch
4. No reinforcing, cutting apart, welding or modifications of anything on the vehicle is allowed except as specified. 5. All glass and burnable material must be removed. 6. Hood may be gutted. Air cleaner may not extend thru hood. Hood scoops or bubbles are not permitted. Rear of hood must be sealed to protect driver from water and oil leaks. 7. Front inner door panels may be removed
only for curved doorbar installation. Window and door operation hardware
8. No gutting of rear wheel wells, trunk
floor or steel interior panels. Trunk floor must remain intact.
Rusted area only
9. Front wheel wells may be removed. 10. Stock floor pan must remain firewall to firewall, frame rail to frame rail. Rusted areas only may be replaced with 20 gauge steel. Cockpit type interiors or other interior tin is permitted. 11. Engine must remain in original position. Firewall must remain unaltered and in stock position. All holes created by removal of heater cores, etc. must be sealed with metal patches. 12. A driveshaft hoop is required and must be located 6” to 12” behind front u-joint. The hoop must be made of ¼” x 2” steel—minimum. Driveshaft must be painted white. 13. Rear bumper must be stock mounted and tied to rear fenders with straps. 14. No gutting of bumpers—front or rear. No cutting off of bumper ends. 15. A short piece of 3/8” chain must be bolted thru a hole in the bumper and a hole in the frame to prevent the bumper from falling off. This applies for both front and rear bumpers. 16. Any stock form bumper is OK. 17. Body must match frame and wheel base. 18. Rub bars may be used on the sides of the car, but must be mounted to the body. They cannot be tied to the roll cage. 19. Sheet or roll plastic or an after-market nosepiece may be used but MUST be mounted ABOVE the stock bumper. Bumper cannot be covered. NO plastic allowed below the bumper. No heavy duty pipe mounted on or above front or rear bumpers. B. ROLLCAGE: 1. A full perimeter roll cage of a minimum of 1.666” x .095” mild steel tubing must be used. Roll cage must be welded to the frame in no less than 6 places. All welding must be electric and all tubing must be formed by use of a tubing bender—no kinks. 2. A six (6) point roll cage is MANDATORY. One post by each windshield post and two behind the driver with all four connected at the top with a roof hoop. You must have an angle brace from the driver’s front of the roof hoop to the right rear of the roof hoop. You must have and angle brace running from the upper right corner to the lower left corner behind the driver. The two back bars must run from the top left and top right of the roof hoop to the rear of the car. We recommend a protective bar running from the front left cage post forward and down to the frame to protect the driver’s foot area. There should be a minimum of 3” from top of the cage to the top of the driver’s head. 3. Minimum of four (4) 3/8’ windshield bars. 4. Minimum of three (3) door bars on left side. C. SAFETY BELTS AND SEAT: 1. Each driver must have a fire extinguisher in his/her pit. 2. A racing seat is recommended. No fiberglass. 3. A tail light in the rear window is required and must be on at all times. 4. Seat belts must consist of a 3” lap belt and double 2” shoulder belts that release with one mechanism and is MANDATORY. 5. A driver’s side window net is MANDATORY. 6. Shoulder belts must be mounted according to the attached spec sheet. 7. Helmet must be a Snell approved full-face helmet. 8. Recommended to have a fire retardant driving suit. D. ENGINE: STOCK! STOCK! STOCK! NO Audible Cams. 1. Stock cast two or four barrel intake that came with said motor. 2. NO aluminum intakes. 3. NO carb adapters or spacer plates. 4. NO porting of heads or intake or exhaust manifolds. STOCK INTAKE & EXHAUST MANIFOLDS! 5. Flat taper hydraulic camshafts only.
NO roller cams or roller lifters allowed. NO mushroom or step lifters
allowed.
6. No double hump heads. (Casting numbers NOT allowed: 186, 462, 461,461x, 492, 432, 041, 040, 370, and 10239906). 7. NO headers, NO roller cams, NO roller tip rockers, NO roller rockers. 8. Heads must match engine. Example: 305 head on 305 engine. 9. Stock pistons. No flat-top pistons in 400 cu. in. engine. E. CARBURETORS AND FUEL: 1. No Marine carbs or intakes. 2. All carburetor components must be STOCK. 3. No milling or grinding allowed. 4. Choke can be removed but not the air horn. 5. Must have stock measurements. 6. No electric fuel pumps. 7. Pump gas only. F. IGNITION: 1. Ignition must be either point system or stock electronics (HEI). No super coils. 2. No multiple spark boxes (like MSD). G. RADIATOR: 1. Radiator must remain in original position
and be operable. Radiator must be mounted in stock radiator mount
in stock location. The portion of the radiator mount that extends outside
the frame rail may be replaced with pipe to tie the fender
2. No aluminum racing radiator allowed in front or rear. 3. Rear coolers are allowed but must be mounted below the rear deck and shielded from the driver. H. TRANSMISSION AND REAR END: 1. Stock 3-speed automatic transmission only. 4.11 gears or less. 2. Powerglides allowed. 3. Straight stick transmission allowed. 4. Stock diameter torque converter only. 5. No modified torque converters. 6. Posi-traction or welded rear ends are OK. 7. No inner marriage of rear ends and transmissions. I. BATTERY: 1. The battery must be moved inside the car cockpit and must be covered and securely fastened. (NO TARP STRAPS). 2. No 16 volt batteries. J. BRAKES AND SUSPENSION: 1. Brakes must be factory stock including master cylinder. 2. All cars must have 4 working brakes at all times. 3. No altering of suspension or steering. Steering shaft with u-joints or slip joint is OK. All suspension parts must match frame. 4. An aftermarket quick-release steering wheel is recommended. 5. Steering quickeners of any type are not permitted. 6. No racing shocks or springs. NO filing of numbers off shocks. Bilstein, Carrera, etc. “stock replacements shocks” are NOT stock shocks and, therefore, are NOT allowed. No “helper” springs on shocks (coil-overs). Springs must be of stock diameter and stock length. Springs must be stock mounted and rear springs must have pigtails on both ends. K. FUEL TANKS: 1. Fuel tanks must be moved into the trunk area. 2. There must be a fire wall between the driver and the fuel tank. 3. Fuel tank must be securely mounted using a minimum of tow (2) 2” steel straps. 4. If a fuel cell is used, it must be in a metal container. L. TIRES AND WHEELS: 1. Tires must be street design and no wider than 8” tread width. 2. No grips or racing tires of any kind whether DOT or not. 3. No grooving or siping. 4. Steel wheels only. 8” maximum width stock wheels or white spoke wheels. 5. Oversize wheel studs and 1” lugnuts are recommended. 6. Racing steel wheel allowed with a stock offset of 4”. 7. Valve stem must be on stock location and nonprotected. M. GENERAL RULES: This class is designed for stock street cars only. NO high performance or racing parts allowed on this car. Suspension, engine and drive train must remain STOCK. Any areas not covered in the above rules shall be left up to the discretion of the management. If in doubt—ASK. We will uphold the intent of the rules. N. NUMBERING: Cars must be neatly numbered using numbers from
1 – 99. Numbers must be at least 15” high and 10” wide with a body
O. TECHING: Top 5 cars will be teched each night. Additional tests include: 1. Vacuum test –All motors need to be 16# psi of vacuum taken from brake booster spigot off of carburetor. 2. Compression test—Using whistler—If questioned, engine will be pumped for cubic inches, then tested again. 3. All engines will be legal under 9.5 to 1 compression ratio.
