2010 WISHEK PUBLIC SCHOOL ALUMNI REUNION
 Alumni Celebrate 16th Annual Reunion

Friday’s wind blew in a beautiful day for the 134 people who attended the 16th All-School Reunion at the Wishek Civic Center on Saturday, June 19th.  The honored classes of 1950, 1960, 1970 and 1980 were recognized and given their choice of chokecherry jelly purchased from Earl & Vivian (1951) (Sayler) Zimmerman,  or honey donated by Bryan Dohn (1981), Danzig Honey Co., and a scroll memento made by Sue Wolff.  The class of 1960 won the $25 prize for having the highest percentage (60%) of their class registered by the early deadline and they also won $25 for having the most registered (17).

Don (1945) & Arla Babitzke and Gary (1959) & Pat (1959) Rath Ritter served as host couples, while Gladys Brosy and Loretta (Bauer) Gall (1962) managed the refreshment table.  Bonnie (Kautz) Wiskus (1957), Sue (Slama) Wolff (faculty), Saralee (Bateman) Hoselton (1957), Carol (Hagel) Burnside (1963) and Bev (Welk) Vilhauer (1977) registered the alumni.  Fred Mueller (1938)  provided the invocation.  LeRoy and Lorene (1961) (Rueb) Wanner served a wonderful German meal of strudels and cubed beef.  The alumni received a table favor of mints, peanuts, and M&M’s - some of which were imprinted with the alumni or badger logos.   Julius Kaseman (1960) led the Memorial Service and Cleo Boschee (faculty) was the emcee.  Entertainment was provided by Harvey (1957) and Diane Schilling of Bismarck.

Alvina (Mueller) Boschee, class of 1937, was honored for being the most senior alumnus in attendance.  She was also joined by three of her siblings; Fred Mueller (1938), Hulda (Mueller) Chambers (1947) and Arnold Mueller (1949).

President Carol Burnside conducted the annual meeting. Bev Vilhauer presented the secretary’s minutes and Bonnie Wiskus gave the treasurer’s report along with an update of Dollars for Scholars.  Gary Ritter will be the president for 2010-2011.  Denise (Rau) Piatz (1994) was voted in as vice-president and Mary Wald (1994) as treasurer.  Meetings for the alumni association are currently held every third Thursday at 7:30 PM at the Wishek City Hall.  All past alumni and faculty are welcome to attend.

An enjoyable time was had by all as they reminisced with classmates and friends from near and far.
